BCC Kent hold Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Ashford

BCC Kent held its Annual General Meeting on 17 January 2025 at Palri Ling Gumba, Ashford, bringing together trustees, members, and community supporters. The meeting opened with welcome remarks from Vice-Chair Mr Raksha Tamang, followed by the Chairman’s report presented by Mr Nimtenji Sherpa, outlining the organisation’s achievements and steady progress over the past year.

Treasurer Mr Balram Gurung reported a healthy financial position, confirming 74 regular direct-debit contributors and reflecting strong financial management. The Secretary, Mr Gomba Sherpa, shared updates on governance improvements, the successful setup of the charity’s PayPal account, and major developments in the monastery building project. While the main structure is complete, work on the car park, boundary wall, and gates is ongoing, with plans to resume full religious and community activities once the project is finalised.

Further updates confirmed that key shrine items and statues have been ordered, and future events such as Gyapsi Pooja and Buddha Jayanti have been scheduled in line with project completion. The meeting concluded with appreciation for the dedication of trustees, volunteers, and donors, whose collective efforts continue to drive the vision of establishing a monastery in the heart of Kent.
